1. Use a car cleaner
Did you think about using your dish soap bottle to clean your car? Bad idea. Despite its pleasant lemon scent, this type of soap can actually damage your car's paint. We recommend using a car cleaner that also contains wax to clean while protecting your vehicle, especially if you’re not planning to wax your car at the very end.
2. Hand Wash Is The Best Wash
Hand washing is gentler on your car's body and allows for a more detailed finish. If you decide to do the cleaning yourself, it’s best to use a wash mitt or a large wash sponge for washing and a microfiber cloth for drying (or any non-abrasive cloth like a chamois).
3. Make Sure to Rinse Your Car Thoroughly
Ideally, try to wash your car in the shade to avoid dealing with a hot body. Otherwise, rinse it with cold water. Soap in the hot sun can leave stains! So, don’t forget to rinse everywhere you’ve scrubbed, like your roof.
4. Make It Shine
After cleaning and rinsing, it’s time for polishing and waxing. Polishing removes contaminants embedded in the paint and eliminates minor flaws like micro-scratches. For this, we recommend using a scratch remover, a mildly abrasive product, or a polishing cream with two pads (one more aggressive and the other softer).
The Finishing Touch: Waxing. Waxing will "nourish" your paint, like giving it vitamins. Using a wax product will act as a protective film on your car, preventing impurities from settling and making your next washes easier. For a simple waxing process, opt for a no-rinse product.
